The Atwima-Mponua Rural Bank at Nyinahin has released 3.8 billion cedis as loans to 2,008 clients to support micro-finance projects.
The bank has also donated cement, roofing sheets and paint to some communities in the area.
Dominic Baah Ayim, Head of the Micro-Finance Department of the bank, said this at the inauguration of "Odo Ne Ntease Kuo", a benevolent society at Kofihiakrom near Nyinahin in the Atwima-Mponua District at the weekend.
Mr Ayim advised the people to cultivate the habit of saving with the bank to enable them obtain more financial assistance and also resist the temptation of flamboyant lifestyles whenever their businesses begin to grow.
Mr Atta Frimpong, the Chairman of the society, commended the bank for its support to the members and said so far 90 million cedis loan had been granted to enable members expand their businesses.
He said the society started with 11 members and now has 60 members.
