Ghana FA boss Kwesi Nyantakyi has been named as chairman of the Ethics Committee of the Confederation of African Football (Caf), GHANAsoccernet.com can exclusively reveal. The 43-year-old was handed one of the most influential committees in the continental body after just four months of working with Caf. He has also been named to work on the Africa Cup of Nations and Africa Nations Championship (CHAN) organising committees. Apart from these three committees, Nyantakyi is already on the executive committee after winning an election in Sudan early this year. The affable leader of Ghana football has been handed the huge task of leading the Ethics Committee at a time when Africa is facing one of its biggest challenges with ethics. Several Caf executives including Amos Adamu of Nigeria, Amadou Diakite of Mali and Slim Aloulou of Tunisia were banned by Fifa’s Ethics Committee last year over various issues. Egyptian executive committee member of Caf, Hani Abou Rida, has also been referred to Fifa’s Ethics Committee over his links to the banned Mohammed Bin Hammam. Nyantakyi, along with his committee members, is expected to provide guidelines on how things must be done right and fairly within the game in Africa. His remit also includes Fair Play which means he and his colleagues on the committee must come up with measures to maintain high levels of fair play in Africa. Source: Ghanasoccernet
