Ghanaian giants Hearts of Oak and Asante Kotoko will have to wait a bit longer before playing in a four-team tournament in Tanzania.
The two-day tournament originally scheduled to begin this Saturday at the National Stadium will now be played at a later date this year, organizers have announced.
Lumuli Marketing and Octagon, a South Africa firm, said they need more time to discuss with other stakeholders what it termed as ’sensitive’ issues before staging the event.
“We feel we cannot go ahead for now until all the stakeholders are fully engaged,” Lumuli Marketing managing director Sidwell Jan said.
Newly crowned Kagame Castle Cup champions Young Africans and six-time Cecafa Cup kings Simba will feature in the tournament.
Asante Kotoko had planned to leave Accra last Tuesday.
