The Coca-Cola Bottling Company of Ghana has been announced as the winner of The Coca-Cola Eurasia & Africa Group President’s Environmental Award for Most Improved Energy Use Plant in 2010.
Ninety-eight countries from parts of Europe and Asia, the Middle East and the entire continent of Africa participated in the competition. Winners were selected by an international jury who assessed each bottler’s environmental and quality performance and contributions to the community.
At an Awards ceremony held in Dubai, UAE on June 28, the Group President, Mr. Ahmet Bozer commended the Ghana bottling business for being the most effective in energy use per product produced and in limiting their carbon footprint. He also recommended Ghana for having an effective waste water management system that ensured the protection of the environment.
The Award was received on behalf of The Coca-Cola Bottling Company of Ghana by Conrad Van Niekerk, the General Manager.
