A circuit court at Cape Coast was on Tuesday told of how a boy mustered courage and fired back at three armed robbers who allegedly attacked his parents' house at Ayifuah, a suburb of Cape Coast, at dawn last Sunday.
Before the court was one of the three armed robbers, Ibrahim Moshe, 26, whose plea was not taken and was remanded until Tuesday August 14.
Prosecuting, Chief Inspector Hope Azasoo told the court that last Sunday at dawn, Moshe in the company of two others one of whom is at large and the other deceased went on an armed robbery spree at Ayifua.
They attacked three houses and robbed the occupants of two of their mobile phones, a laptop computer and cash amounting to more than GH¢600.00 (6 million cedis).
He said it was when they attacked the third house where the boy lives with his parents that the boy fired back at them, killing one of them. Moshe and the other robber escaped.
Chief inspector Azasoo said the community watchdog committee members conducted a search in the vicinity and arrested Moshe.
He was found with a bag containing a locally made shotgun, four live cartridges, two talismans, two screwdrivers and a knife.
