About 150 passengers, mostly Ghanaians bound for Accra onboard a British Airways Flight-081, were left stranded in London after British airport officials caused their flight to take off without them on Sunday.
The passengers said they got to the Heathrow Airport to check-in their flights but were not allowed in because airport authorities claimed the airport was congested.
They said when they were finally allowed in, they were told their flight was full and could not take on anymore passengers.
Some of the affected passengers who spoke to Joy News from London expressed their disgust at the airline and accused the officials of discrimination.
They were particularly upset that officials had taken their passports and tickets but refused to tell them when they would make the flight home.
The stranded passengers said no British Airways official at t he Airport wanted to take responsibility for the mishap, and kept passing the buck until they were finally told to rebook their flights.
Said one of the stranded passengers, “These things usually happen with flights bound for Africa, they would not dare do this to any others.”
