Joy Business has learnt that the Director-General of the Securities and Exchange Commission, Dr. Nii Kwaku Sowa will be leaving office by the close of this month following the expiration of his one year contract.
The SEC Director-General was due for retirement last year, but was asked to stay on for another year.
An economist by profession, he assumed office as Director-General sometime in 2005 after serving as commissioner from 2001.
His successor is soon to be announced as the necessary short-listing has been done.
