Ghana midfielder Michael Essien has joined Indonesian side Persib Bandung on a one-year contract.
The former Chelsea midfielder joined the club ahead of the new Indonesian season.
The deal which sees the midfielder return to action after his contract was terminated with Greek side Panathinaikos will have the option of extending his contract for a further year at the end of the 2017/2018 season depending on his performances.
The 34-year-old will wear his favored number five jersey for The Blue Prince (as Persib are nicknamed).
The deal will make the midfield icon the highest paid player in the Asian country with a reported 800,000 Euros a year salary.
