The Deputy General Secretary of the Greater Accra Regional branch of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Alex Quartey, has said that his party is in the position to recapture all seats in the region during December 2008 elections.
He said that organisational structures and mechanisms have been put in place to ensure total victory for the party.
Mr.Quartey revealed that so far a total of 32 parliamentary aspirants have been vetted in the "orphan" constituencies of the NPP, which he explained are constituencies where the NPP has no sitting Members of Parliament.
He said even though the vetting committee is still considering the aspirants, he was confident that all the aspirants have what it takes to beat any opposition candidates.
Touching on the party’s performance in the Dangme area, he said the party’s organisation has not been the best and this, he said accounted for its unimpressive performance in the area over the years.
Mr.Quartey was confident that the tables will turn in favour of the NPP in the 2008 elections.
He also commended party executives who had declared their intention to run for the primaries for respecting the party’s constitution by resigning their positions to avoid conflict of interest.
The Deputy Regional Secretary called on all party members particularly foot soldiers of the NPP to bury their differences and remain committed to the ideals of the party to ensure another victory for the party in 2008.
