Assistant coach Maxwell Konadu has been tasked to take interim charge of the Black Stars until the Football Association names a substantive coach.
The former Asante Kotoko boss will lead the team for next month’s FIFA free date for international friendlies should the FA fins an opponent.
Konadu acted in the same capacity in 2014 and led the team in two qualifiers to the 2015 Africa Cup of Nations after the dismissal of Kweis Appiah.
"Maxwell Konadu will be the caretaker coach of the Black Stars until the substantive coach is named. He will be assisted Professor Joseph Mintah, who will also continue in his role as the team psychologist," a statement of the official FA website read.
Konadu was the coach of the local Black Stars until now. A role which the FA have indicated will merge with the nextBlack Stars coach.
"The new Black Stars coach will also take charge of the Local Black Stars as the head coach of the home-based national team," the FA further mentioned.
