Black Stars deputy captain Andre Ayew has earned praise from manager Slaven Bilic for his exploits in the Premier League over the weekend.
Andre Ayew scored on his return to action for West Ham to earn a 1-1 draw against injury-hit Watford at Vicarage Road
Watford looked set for victory until the Ghana international popped up with an equaliser deep into the second period.
Antonio let off a rocket of a shot with his weaker left foot which cannoned off both posts before falling to a gleeful Ayew, who turned the ball home.
“We have to praise Ayew from the bench. He got a big injury in his first game against Chelsea,” the Croatian boss said. “He has come back from the African Cup and is looking back to his best.
“We have enough quality and we showed that today.”
Bilic’s words suggest that Ayew could come into West Ham’s starting line-up in the coming weeks.
The Hammers have places up for grabs in their attacking slots, and Ayew could now stake a claim for a regular spot in Bilic’s team.
