After almost ten years of Ghana hosting the Africa Cup of Nations, the Accra Sports Stadium press room has still not discarded the media backdrop that was used for the 2008 Africa Cup of Nations.
On Wednesday February 22, the backdrop - with its outdated logos of the tournament and its sponsors - was spotted being used for a Ghana Premier League game.
Corporate giants like MTN, Canon, Samsung, Guinness, Pepsi and Stanbic Bank - who sponsored the tournament hosted in Ghana - got free publicity during the post match press conference of the 2017 Ghana Premier League Match Day Three clash between Great Olympics and Elmina Sharks.
The backdrop was on bold display as the coaches of both Olympics and Sharks, who played out a pulsating 2-2 draw, spoke to the press.
Samuel Arthur and Joseph Mensah scored in the second half to help Premier League debutants Elmina Sharks come back from an Abel Manomey brace for the home side.
The Ghana Premier League is currently without a title sponsor.
