Angel Di Maria has revealed that friends in Madrid have congratulated him for destroying Barcelona.
The Argentine winger scored a brace as PSG hammered Barça 4-0 in the Champions League Round of 16 first leg on Tuesday night.
Ex-Manchester United attacker Di Maria, a former Real Madrid star, says he has been thanked by the Madridistas for demolishing their arch rivals.
"My friends in Madrid have already congratulated me," Di Maria said.
"I lived the 5-0 defeat by Barcelona to Madrid and finished with the face that today they have finished with."
Despite the resounding first-leg triumph, Di Maria is not getting carried away with the return bout at Camp Nou still to come.
"It's difficult, but everything can happen at the Nou Camp," Di Maria added.
"What we had trained we have done to perfection. I was considered dead early in the season but things can change."
