Bechem United head coach, Vincenzo Alberto Annese is optimistic his side will qualify for the next round of the CAF Confederations Cup despite defeating MC Alger by a slender 2-1 margin at the Accra Sports Stadium.
Former Asante Kotoko striker, Ahmed Toure scored the first goal through a penalty goal and another strike from Osei Bonsu helped the home team secure all the three points.
Despite the narrow win over the Algerians, Annese remains positive his team can record a good scoreline in the reverse fixture to progress in the competition.
“We wanted to score more, in competition like this you have to score more goals, but is a good we won and we will prepare for the second leg.” He told Asempa Sports.
“I know my team, I know we will go and get a good result there, it won’t beat easy but we are hoping for the best.
“MC Alger is a good Club and they have played in Africa before, this is our first time and most of our players are playing in the competition for the first time.”
