As part of efforts in providing care and sensitizing Ghanaians on healthy ways of living, mobile network operator, Tigo Ghana has been building partnerships to deliver structured, stakeholder driven and measurable benefits to support communities and improve lives.
Tigo does this through Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiatives with main emphasis on health and wellbeing as well as education.
In collaboration with Here for Perfection (H4P) Crew, a gospel music group Tigo Ghana is embarking on malaria prevention education.
The maiden Tigo sponsored H4P Crew malaria prevention event takes place at Pavilion B of the Ghana International Trade Fair Centre, La in Accra this Saturday May 21, 2011 from 5pm.
The H4P Crew uses dramatic arts to transfer very important information to its audience. The creative arts educational campaign for malaria will comprise music, dance and drama. The performance will leave its audience both entertained and educated on various ways of not only preventing, but also managing malaria.
Tigo’s collaboration with H4P Crew to fight malaria, the company said, is aimed at providing a relaxing experience to discerning busy and hardworking members of the Ghanaian public who also support a worthy cause.
Prior to this performance, the H4P Crew had staged other malaria prevention related performances.
Speaking at a pre-event briefing, Advertising and Media Manager for Tigo Ghana, Enoch Vanderpuye said the fight against malaria forms part of Tigo’s CSR on health and wellbeing, which is aimed at supporting lives and improving communities. He further added that “apart from this collaboration with H4P, Tigo Ghana has also joined the National Malaria Control Programme to fight the malaria menace.”
According to him, dramatic arts present a novel way through which we can all fight malaria.
