Brisk business is underway at the Accra International Conference Centre where the 2007 edition of the Joy Bridal Fair officially opened on Friday morning with splendid, indeed flamboyant ceremonies.
The four-day fair, the 5th in the series, has proved to be more than a romantic event, with staff of the over 80 exhibitors constantly on their toes to serve clients.
Products from bridal wears and accessories, floral decorations, beauty products and services, among them spectacular innovations, household utensils, and very new financial products including packages from the Ghana Home Loans, are on display until Sunday.
Joy FM’s Programmes Director, Kofi Owusu, who delivered the welcome address to open the fair, noted that the fair has indeed come to fill a social and commercial void.
He said the Fair has come to fill a major social need, replacing the days when prospective couples had to go through the hassle and bustle of planning their weddings, from deciding on the date, the colours, clothing, jewellery and venue, to the kind of reception after tying the knot.
“But thanks to Joy FM, this has become a thing of the past. For the next three days people planning to get married can have the simple pleasure of selecting all the things they would need for their wedding under one roof.
