The Ministry of Trade, Industry, Private Sector Development and President's Special Initiatives has announced that attendance at the Sixth AGOA meeting to be held in Accra would strictly be by accreditation.
A statement signed in Accra by Mr Kodua Edzekumhene, Acting Director of Communications and Public Affairs of the Ministry, said both the Experts' Meeting of the African Ministerial Consultative Group and the Ministerial Meeting to be held on July 16 and July 17 respectively were restricted purely for governments of AGOA eligible sub-Saharan African countries.
It said these meetings were not open to participation by any other groups. However, the accredited press would be admitted to only the opening sessions of the two meetings.
The statement said properly accredited members of the private sector, non-governmental organisations and civil society groups would be allowed to participate in the main forum scheduled for July 18 and 19.
The AGOA exhibition/fair will run alongside the meetings from July 16.
