Defender of newly promoted Elmina Sharks Farouk Adams says they are ready for their debut Ghana Premier League campaign.
Sharks, owned by the 2016 presidential candidate of Progressive People’s Party (PPP), were the first to qualify for topflight after a breathtaking campaign in the second tier league last term.
And they have targeted survival in their first season but will challenge for the title the following season, according to Adams, who is expected to play a key role for the Cape Coast based club.
"We are really prepared for the upcoming league. We are aiming at staying up this season and challenge for the trophy next season," he told Sports24 TV.
"Our target for the new season is to maintain our status as a top flight side just to prove to the whole nation that we are ready and capable of doing it big."
Elmina Sharks will kick start their league campaign with tough assignment against defending champions Wa All Stars on 5 February.
