Ghana left back Abdul Baba Rahman has been diagnosed of bruised meniscus, initial tests have confirmed.
The Schalke 04 man was flown to Libreville early on Wednesday morning to have a scan on his injury.
And the results have shown he has a bruised meniscus. He will fly to Germany for further tests which could put his participation in the tournament into doubt.
“Initial diagnosis of Baba Rahman’s injury shows a bruised meniscus. The Schalke man is returning to Gelsenkirchen for further examination,” the club’s official twitter account said.
Symptoms of a bruised meniscus are severe pain and swelling in the knee, buckling of the knee, a popping sensation when walking for long or running, and locking of the knee when attempting to straighten or fully extend the leg.
