Government has ordered the release of an additional eight million Ghana Cedis as an urgent measure to eradicate the cholera epidemic.
The money is to be released as soon as possible.
This follows the release of five million Ghana cedis towards the effective control of the cholera outbreak in March.
Minister for Local Government and Rural Development, Samuel Ofosu Ampofo says this will, among other things, support Metropolitan and Municipal Assemblies to pay waste collection contractors to enable them deliver effective refuse collection.
The Minister however says this is the last time government will assist in waste management because the Assemblies should be capable of providing resources to manage their waste.
