Marketers in Ghana have been advised to prepare adequately for investors who will be coming to invest in the country.
At the launch of the 22nd Chartered Institute Of Marketers Ghana (CIMG) Awards, Alhaji Ibrahim Awal, former Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Graphic Communications Group and CEO of Chase Petroleum, said Ghana is continuously viewed as a haven and place to do business.
“Ghana is continuously viewed as a stable haven and a place to do business. I want to urge marketers and entrepreneurs to be ready in terms of competence so when investors come, we will be able to offer businesses that are more important than others will offer.”
Mr. Awal said the recent unrest in Cote d’ Ivoire and North Africa has brought about some problems and advantages.
He said marketers should take advantage of the peaceful democratic business environment and partner the investors who are going to come to the country “so that together we do not only create jobs, but make Ghana a continuous place of investment.”
“In today’s environment those who are entrepreneurs understand the marketing concepts which companies have used over the years to sell their products and services,” he said.
He further explained that a successful entrepreneur understands and appreciates the blend of products, place, promotion and product strategies that will produce satisfying exchange with the target market.
Josepine Okutu, National President of CIMG, said the awards has contributed significantly in promoting sound human and corporate marketing performance apart from the euphoria that the event has generated over the years.
Mrs. Okutu said the theme for the awards, Entrepreneurial Marketing-Tool for Repositioning,” was chosen in order to acknowledge the fact that the local industry consist of indigenous people, who are contributing significantly to the growth of our economy.
The awards are in 31 categories and are as follows: four personality awards, three hall of fame awards, seven media awards, one not-for-profit organization award, 14 business awards and two product awards.
