Boateng deceives Ghana over injury, AC Milan reveal

A huge scandal is engulfing Kevin Prince Boateng after AC Milan revealed that they have released the midfielder to play for Ghana in the weekend’s Africa Cup of Nations qualifier. The German-born player told Ghana officials on Monday that he is not available for the vital qualifying game on Sunday because he aggravated an ankle injury at the end of weekend’s 1-0 defeat to Palermo. But a statement from AC Milan dated Wednesday 23 March, 2011, shows that he has been released to join the Black Stars. And even if he’s injured, as he claims, he did not turn up for treatment as other injured AC Milan players did on Wednesday at the club’s training ground. The club’s doctor was even reported to have called Ghana coach Goran Stevanovic to tell him that the midfielder injury will not permit him to play in the game in Brazzaville. But Ghanasoccernet.com investigations have revealed that Boateng is among players AC Milan themselves have released for African Cup of Nations qualifiers this weekend. “The following Milan players will be involved in African Nations Cup qualifiers: Boateng: Congo-Ghana and England-Ghana (March 27 and 29),” a statement on AC Milan’s official website read. “Strasser: Niger-Sierra Leone (March 27, Oduamadi: Nigeria-Ethiopia (March 27),” the statement added showing that Strasser and Oduamadi have been released for Sierra Leone and Nigeria respectively. Injured AC Milan player Pato turned up for treatment at the club’s training ground on Wednesday and questions are being asked why Boateng failed to turn up for treatment if he is injured. “Massimo Ambrosini and Ignazio Abate trained in the gym, Alessandro Nesta trained alone as did Andrea Pirlo who worked on his fitness on the lower pitch while Pato received treatment,” another statement on AC Milan’s website revealed. The revelation will spark anger among Black Stars supporters and fury with Ghana FA officials who would feel cheated, deceived and lied to by Boateng. Boateng was born to a Ghanaian father and German mother and made the international switch to play for the Black Stars just before the 2010 World Cup in South Africa. Since the World Cup Boateng missed the two matches against Sudan and Togo claiming he is injured.
