The Reverend Thomas K. Addo, Minister in charge of the Methodist-Presbyterian Church at Apremdo has said without unity the country could not achieve much. He said divisions among families, churches, homes, organisations and denominations had led to civil wars in several African countries. Rev. Addo said this at a special prayer meeting organised by the Anaji Electoral Area for Ghana and the New Patriotic Party (NPP) at Takoradi on Monday. He said character assassination and tribalism in all spheres of life coupled with discrimination could worsen the plight of any nation. Rev. Addo therefore urged all Ghanaians to focus on their development agenda and should not allow petty squabbles, partisan politics and tribal differences to divide them. Prayers were said for the government, judiciary, African Union (AU), NPP presidential aspirants and the December 2008 general elections. Source: GNA
