Betway Ghana today unveiled a new Ashanti Gold Sporting Club (Ash Gold SC) kit for the 2016/17 season. The launched kit marks the beginning of the Betway-Ash Gold SC sponsorship agreement which was signed in October this year.
The new kit pays homage to the club’s illustrious history and makes use of the club’s colors of yellow and black.
Country Manager of Betway Ghana, Kwabena Nkrumah, said Betway recognised Ash Gold SC as one of the most successful clubs in the history of the Ghanaian Premier League.
“The club boasts of one of the best FIFA-accredited sporting facilities in the country, and is the only club in the Ghana Premier League to own a multi-purpose stadium,” he said. “This, and the fact that they have produced some of the country’s most successful footballers, are a few of the reasons we partnered with Ash Gold SC to further their effective and professional administration.”
Betway looks to assist the club in the areas of branding, technical support and their general performance in the Ghana Premier League. The kit is the first of many other progressive measures the company is helping with. Betway plans to facilitate the club’s logistics and output as well as invest into helping the development of sports in the country.
Chief Executive Officer of Ash Gold SC, Kudjoe Fianoo expressed his excitement for the new kit and technical support.
“Betway has come at a very important and opportune time that will help the club to reach another level in Ghana and the Premier League” he said. “We are prepared for the upcoming season with this milestone that would boost the club’s fortunes to another level.”
The yellow kit with black accents takes inspiration from the City of Obuasi’s Gold which features an elephant with its nose balancing a ball on its head, a symbol of the city’s history as a leader in the mining of gold.
Betway has incorporated this symbolism into the new design as a badge of honour to demonstrate that, through hard work, an ‘Osono Aboakese’ attitude and the highest of standards, Ash Gold SC has evolved to become a pioneer of the Ghana Premier League. In continuously striving for greatness and success, Ash Gold SC has become a reputable football club.
The kit will be worn for the first time next season by the Ash Gold SC team during their first league match.
Ash Gold SC has produced notable players in the country, including current Black Stars internationals Mubarak Wakaso (Panathinaikos), Jonathan Mensah (FC Anzhi), Lawrence Lartey (Kaizer Chiefs) and national goalkeeper Fatau Dauda.
The Betway Group is a leading provider of first-class sports betting entertainment and the official principal sponsor of English Premier League football club West Ham United, Onduparaka FC in Uganda, Mathare United in Kenya and now Ash Gold SC in Ghana.
