Barcelona have suffered defeat in their appeal of Lionel Messi's yellow card for time wasting in their win over Sevilla last weekend.
The punishment was handed out after the Argentine sat on the ground having lost his boot, which he was told to leave the field to replace, much to his disgust.
LaLiga's competition committee's statement in turning down the Blaugrana's protest remarks that the video replays show that Messi deliberately delayed the restart of the game.
