Ghana coach Avram Grant is happy with the return of fitness trainer Jamie Lawrence to the Black Stars team ahead of their crucial 2018 World Cup qualifier against Egypt.
The ex-Jamaican international who was instrumental in Ghana's campaign at the last edition of the Africa Cup of Nations in Equatorial Guinea joined the team in Dubai this week.
He is expected to boost the conditioning of the players and maintain their sharpness.
''This is why Jamie [Lawrence]-the Fitness coach is here. We missed him. In every normal club, the fitness coach is part of the team but you know since Mauritius we did not have him and we have seen the impact right away,'' Grant said at the team's camp base in Dubai.
''He is doing personal training with the players that are not playing regularly and we will do everything to get them in good condition for Sunday.
''One of the things that when I came to Ghana is to take the team forward that people will understand what is going on round the world.
''They are watching the game on the TV but the game is end product. We need to follow the steps and one of this is the physical side and you need a fitness coach.
''Not to give them running but also to keep the sharpness that will avoid injuries.''
Jamie has been taking charge of the fitness of the team in Dubai.
