Avram Grant will lead the Black Stars into Egypt for a crucial World Cup qualifier on November 13.
However, a key issue has been the sbplot relating to Grant's nationality. Israel and Egypt - an Arab nation - historically have had a difficult relationship.
Egypt was the first Arab country to sign a peace treaty with Israel, in 1979, but anti-Israeli sentiments have been rife since former president Hosni Mubarak was toppled by a popular revolt in 2011. There have even been reports that some Egyptians want to protest the entry of the Ghana coach into the country.
But how true are these claims?
Two Israeli journalists - Raphael Gellar (BBC News) and Ben Mittlelman (Channel 2 News) - speak to Joy Sports about how/why Avram's going to Egypt with Ghana is also dominating news coverage in their country.
They confirm Grant also has a Polish passport, and provide insight on why he is not speaking to any media ahead of Ghana's crucial World Cup qualifier vs Egypt. Grant is currently at home in Israel.
WATCH INTERVIEW
Meanwhile, an Egyptian journalist, Marwan Saeed, also offers the Egyptian side of the story to Joy Sports. He says Avram will not face any hostile treatment and buttresses the official notion that no special security measures will be put in place because of the coach. He also confirms that although Israelis do enter Egypt, they usually go through more screening procedures than is normal.
WATCH INTERVIEW
In essence, when the Black Stars enter Egypt on November 11, the Israeli nationality of the coach may be, at most, a minor issue that is unlikely to blow up.
The Pharoahs of Egypt will host the Blacks Stars on 13th November 2016 in the quest to avenge the 2013 6-1 mauling suffered at the hands of the West African powerhouse and also ensure their keep their qualification hopes alive.
