A cat that can give the thumbs up has become an internet hit after a clip of his party trick was posted on YouTube.
The 38-second film of Jimmy has notched up 140,000 hits in just one day, reports Metro.
In the video, entitled 'Amazing Cat Gives Thumbs Up', Jimmy's female owner can be heard asking him to perform.
After gazing indifferently at the camera for a few seconds, Jimmy puts up his thumb.
The owner posted: "Jimmy is a polydactyl cat. He's probably the laziest cat in the world but he's also super clever and has thumbs. And he's got a great party trick."
Comments from YouTube users include: "Cat have thumbs now. We, as a species, are finished" and "I, for one, welcome our new thumbed overlord".
Jimmy's trick is down to a congenital physical anomaly. Polydactyl cats are born with more than the usual number of toes on one or more of their paws.
