Okyenhene Osagyefo Amoatia Ofori Panin II has confirmed that his task force raided a mining site belonging to the Chief of Kyebi Afiesa.
He has however denied allegations his men were armed.
Otafrigya Agyemang Kumaning II had accused the Okyenhene of sending armed men to take quantities of gold and other equipment from his licensed mine.
The Okyehene’s Secretary Ampofo Budu who spoke to Joy News after an emergency meeting at the Okyenhene’s palace however denied the allegations.
“I know for sure that they [taskforce] have never gone on an operation armed…they went there to find out if the River Birim had been diverted or if the miners mine too close to the river,” Mr Ampofo Budu said.
But the Afiase Chief Otafrigya Agyemang Kumaning II insists the Okyehene’s task force attacked his mining site with arms and says police investigations will exonerate him.
