Ghana’s Under 17 male team, the Black Starlets will face off with host nation Madagascar in the group phase of the U-17 Africa Cup of Nations.
Paa Kwesi Fabin’s men will fancy their chances of winning the competition for the first time since 1999 as they have been drawn in Group A against 2003 champions Cameroon as well as Guinea and lowly rated Madagascar.
Group B will see current champions Mali, Congo, Angola and Niger battling it out for qualification to the semi-finals of the tournament.
Ghana qualified for the tournament by beating Burkina Faso and Cote d'Ivoire after missing out the previous year.
First and second teams of each group qualifies straight to the World Cup.
Black Starlets are one most successful teams in the tournament, having won on two occasions – 1995 and 1999.
