A-29-year-old self-styled prophet from Kokoben near Santase, a suburb of Kumasi in the Ashanti Region has been arrested for fondling the breast of a woman who came to him for prayers and deliverance.
Prophet Eric Kwabena Fosu was apprehended by the Agogo Police for allegedly raping the 27-year-old woman in his room.
But he denied having sexual bouts with the woman. He however allegedly admitted fondling the breast but did not have sex with her as his penis did not penetrate the woman.
Prophet Fosu who claims to be the founder of Anointing Power Chapel in Kumasi was consequently charged with indeeent assault after police investigations.
The beleaguered Man of God has since appeared before the Juaso Circuit Court where he was remanded into custody.
DSP Nana Ekow Yawson, the Agogo District Police Commander, told DAILY GUIDE that the incident happened at Agogo.
He said the complainant heard the prophet preaching on radio where he said he had powers to solve problems faced by people; so those in tribulations should come to him for help.
After the preaching, the prophet gave out his telephone numbers and said those in need of spiritual intervention should get to him at Agogo.
The complainant (name withheld for security reasons) who was in dire need of spiritual intervention, visited the prophet around 6.00am of January 17, 2011 for the said prayers.
After the prayers, Prophet Fosu told the lady to visit him in his house around 6.00pm for extra special prayers and the complainant honoured the invitation as scheduled.
Upon reaching the house, according to the report, Prophet Fosu ushered her into his room and after the prayer session, he started fondling the woman's breast before forcibly having sexual intercourse with her.
The shocked and traumatized complainant immediately lodged a complaint with the police who arrested Prophet Fosu for questioning.
The suspect was charged with indecent assault and arraigned.
