The National Health Insurance Authority says it is making arrangements for an early settlement of claims owed the Krachi West District Hospital.
Managers of the Volta region hospital have accused the NHIA of refusing to pay for services rendered for over six months now amounting to half a million cedis.
They say the situation is hampering the hospital’s operations.
Although authorities in the region have blamed hospital officials for submitting their claims late, Deputy Director of Corporate Affairs at the NHIA, Eric Ametor-Quarmyne says the claims should be settled before the end of the week.
He said delay in payment was also partly caused by the painstaking efforts being undertaken by the Authority to vet all claims to reduce fraud.
