Former Black Stars coach Ralf Zumdick is tipping Ghana to make a fourth successive appearance at the 2018 World Cup.
Zumdick, head coach of the Stars in 2003, believes the team have enough quality to go through despite in a tough group.
Ghana are in the same group as Congo, Uganda and Egypt with the senior national team starting their campaign on Friday, September 7 at home against Uganda. The Black Stars will face off with the Cranes at the Tamale sports stadium.
Zumdick, who paid a surprise visit to the team on Tuesday during their first training session at the Accra sports stadium ahead of the qualifers, is convince that Grant's team will sail through.
“I have no fear Ghana will surely qualify for the World Cup in Russia”.
“With the quality in the team now it with be difficult for any team in their group to beat them to qualification,” he added.
Zumdick, during his reign as Ghana coach, gave Asamoah Gyan his Black Stars debut against Somalia.
The former German goalkeeper was also coach of Kumasi Asante Kotoko and King Faisal in the Ghanaian topflight.
