The management of Kumasi Asante Kotoko is putting in place stringent measures to forestall alleged ticket racketeering at the Baba Yara Stadium during the team’s home matches.
Investigations conducted by Luv Sports indicate revenue accruing from gate proceeds when Asante Kotoko played BA Stars last Wednesday was a far cry from the number of spectators who trooped to the stadium.
12,000 tickets were printed for the match, but according to observers, attendance exceeded the ticket sales.
Some club faithful are pointing accusing fingers at ticket sellers, turnstile or gate operators and ticket checkers at the gates.
In an interview with Luv Sports, Operations Manager of Asante Kotoko, Ernest Owusu Ansah - popularly known as PJ - said management is putting in stringent measures to forestall such occurrences.
“We are putting in a lot of measures to forestall what happened against BA Stars. It is my fervent hope that with these new strategies that are coming out, our supporters should relax and trust in the management that we will do things right so that Kotoko will earn maximum profits at the gates”, he stated.
