Black Meteors coach David Duncan says his heart will forever be with AshantiGold Football FC and he will do everything in his capacity to help the club regain their form in the Glo Premier League.
According to him, whether he stays or leaves as the coach of Ashgold will not affect his affection for the club and his support to its cause.
Speaking on Asempa FM and Multi TV’s “Fire for Fire” sports programme on Thursday, David Duncan stated only a few in club may have some disaffection for him but he cannot look to those and requite the club's kindness with any ill.
It’s been reported that some board members of the club are bent on getting him to resign on grounds coach Duncan has been around for too long and that he needs to pave way for fresh ideas to direct the club technically.
Some fans of the club have even attributed Wednesday’s Mid-Week 1-0 victory over Hearts of Oak to his absence - an allegation Coach Duncan dismisses, explaining his absence physically from the bench was only part of a psychological strategy geared towards the conquer of the Phobians.
He said he played a key role in ensuring that Ashgold won the game against Accra Hearts Oak in Obuasi. Coach Duncan, who is speculated to be on his way out of the club, could not state clearly whether he is with the club as their head coach or has quit.
