The Chairman of the Ghana Weight Lifting Association and a Presidential aide, Nii Lantey Vanderpuiye says he will be the last person to do anything to disrupt sporting activities in the country.
He made this comment in reaction to suggestions that he has been at the centre of the problems at the Ghana Olympic Committee.
In an interview with Asempa FM on Friday, Mr. Vanderpuiye flatly denied ever disrupting the GOC’s congress by tearing documents.
Speaking on the IOC's ban, he stated that the IOC sent a three-man delegation to meet with the GOC in order to resolve matters pending at the time in which the IOC made it clear to the GOC that the appointment of executives to the various sporting associations did not conform with the IOC's regulations.
Mr Vanderpuaye noted that, the GOC officials at the meeting did not accept the IOC's request for Ghana to opt from the IOC in order to straighten its administrative rules.
He stressed that he had no hand the problem and that it is unfair for people to tarnish his image
