The Ghana Health Service has asked health workers under the National Youth Employment Programme in the Upper West region to desist from unethical practices.
The advice was given at a two-month training workshop for health extension officers under the NYEP in Wa.
Joy FM Correspondent, Rafik Salam reports the trainees were cautioned against posing as medical doctors.
The Wa Municipal Director of the GHS, Beatrice Kuunfa, told the health assistants they were trained to provide care and not to practice medicine.
She warned any violation of the ethics of their training will have dire consequences.
The Wa Municipal Chief Executive, Dogo Yakubu, reminded the participants that the NYEP was not meant to provide them with permanent employment.
