Ghana Football Association spokesperson Ibrahim Saani Daara has denied media reports suggesting that Minister of Youth and Sports Nii Lantey Vanderpuye has ordered Avram Grant to review his squad that will play against Rwanda next month.
Reports were rife that Nii Lante had instructed Grant to call up home-based stars for the game following their inability to cater for air fares of the foreign players.
But Ibrahim Saani Daara in an interview with Accra based station Asempa FM stated that, they have not received any order from the Ministry and wants the public to disregard those reports.
“It is not true that the Sports Minister has instructed we change the squad for the game against Rwanda,” he said
“I honestly don’t know where those reports are coming from so I will entreat on the public to disregard such reports.”
Grant named a 23 man squad that is dominated by foreign based players for the the game against Rwanda though the team has already sealed qualification for next year’s AFCON.
