The Minister of Tourism and Diasporan Relations, Mr Jake Obetsebi-Lamptey, has said he will obey President Kufuor’s fiat to all minister-aspirants to resign.
Speaking to Joy News, Mr Obetsebi-Lamptey fell short to disclose when he intends to resign.
Early last week, President Kufuor directed all his ministers who are interested in succeeding him to pack and leave his administration else face dismissal. The President is said to be unhappy that the minister-aspirants are campaigning in contravention of his earlier order.
Mr Obetsebi-Lamptey told Joy News he would step aside in order to focus on his presidential ambitions.
“It was the president who appointed me as a minister. It is the president’s decision to withdraw that position at anytime. When you come in as a minister you should come in knowing that for whatever reasons…you can be asked to step down at anytime to suit the president’s interpretation,” he said.
He said he would cause a stir on the congress day where he believes is the “time to peak.”
