Ghana’s national Under 17 team, the Black Starlets, qualified for the African Youth Championship in Madagascar with a 6-5 aggregate win over neighbours Burkina Faso.
The Starlets held a comfortable 5-1 lead going into the first leg but a second half capitulation almost derailed their chances.
The Starlets were well on course for qualification at halftime as it ended 1-1 but the three goals in the second half by the Burkinabes put their position under threat as they Starlets held on for qualification.
A scare for Paa Kwesi Fabin and his charges but the real work begins from here as they meet seven other African countries for the ultimate crown as well as a place in the World Cup.
