The Nsawam Circuit Court on Thursday jailed David Hayibor, a 25-year-old shoemaker of Nsawam to 19 years imprisonment with hard labour for defiling and assaulting a 14-year old girl.
Hayibor was jailed for 15 years for defilement and four years for assault.
Prosecuting, Police Inspector Alex Cosmos told the court, presided over by Mrs. Elizabeth Ankumah that, Hayibor on April 23, this year, at about 2300 hours attacked the victim, a chop bar attendant who had closed from work and was walking home with his brother.
He said the accused and one Paapa, now at large attacked the victim and the brother, assaulted them and snatched an amount of 100,000 cedis from the victim's brother.
Inspector Cosmos said sensing danger, the brother of the victim took to his heels and left the sister who was dragged by the accused and Paapa behind a kiosk near the Nsawam lorry park and had sexual intercourse with her.
He said the brother of the victim alerted the police who arrested Hayibor while Paapa took to his heels.
