The Premier League Board (PLB) has given the green light for the Glo Premiership to bounce to life after a brief suspension due to the raid at the Ghana Football Association (GFA) by the Economic and Organized Crime Office (EOCO) last week.
Welbeck Abrah Appiah, Chairman of the PLB told the media on Tuesday that the resumption of the League fixed for this weekend was necessitated by the lifting of the ban on all football activities by the Executive Committee of the GFA on Monday.
The change in stand means action returns at all the eight centers in the ultimate matches of the first round of the competition that pieces together 16 clubs in the elite division.
"The brief break affected our calendar but once the GFA wrote to us on Monday, December 13 lifting the ban, we can start the league again."
Abrah Appiah said the registration window for the second round, originally scheduled to end on Wednesday, December 15 has been pushed nine days further to enable the Clubs argument their playing force.
"We lost some days from the time the suspension came and we want to give the clubs some time back".
The mandatory publication of registered players that spans 29-31 December will precede the two-day verification process on January 4-6 after which Clubs will lose any right to protest against player eligibility.
Abrah Appiah said the opener of the second round of the League, initially billed for January 2, will kickoff seven days later while the week 17 games is pushed to mid-week (January 12) as part of his outfits quest to regain normalcy for the Premiership timetable.
"The season will be back to normal after the mid-week games on January 12 and there will be no more changes."
Per the original time table, the League will take a three-week break first week in February as Ghana participates in the biannual Confederation of African Nations Cup (CHAN) tourney in Sudan.
The League will end on May 22.
