Ex-Black Stars short stopper Edward Ansah has been appointed as the new assistant coach of Premier League side Bechem United.
The 53-year-old former international will double as the goalkeepers’ trainer for the club until the end of the season before a permanent deal would be firmed up based on his performance.
The chairman of the club, Kingsley Owusu Achau, confirmed the move to Daily Graphic. The owner stated Ansah will assist the head coach, Manuel Zacarias, for the rest of the season.
He said both parties were satisfied with the terms of the contract and Ansah had expressed his gratitude and willingness to join the club.
Ansah will be joining the Bechem side with a depth of experience, having served in a similar capacity with local giants, Accra Hearts of Oak, and as a goalkeepers’ trainer for the Black Stars.
Mr Achau was confident that Ansah’s inclusion in the technical team would help the club to complete the season in a respectable position.
