An Indian Phone technician has been arraigned before an Accra Circuit Court for stealing 19 high end phones from his employers.
Shakir Bhoja 25, has been charged for stealing 12pieces of Apple Iphone 6s and 6pieces of Samsung Galaxy S7 all costing Ȼ62,800
Shakir pleaded not guilty to the charges when he appeared in the court on Thursday July 14. The Court presided over by Madam Patricia Quansah therefore adjourned the case to Monday July 18 for the final determination of the case.
According to the investigator, Mr. Kofi Nti, in the course of the investigations, Shakir admitted that he had stolen the phones and sold them at Tip Toe lane, around Kwame Nkrumah Circle.
He subsequently led the police to Tip Toe Lane to the buyer of the phones, however, the buyer has since absconded and he is been pursued by the police.
Mr. Nti indicated that the suspect mentioned that the proceeds from the phones sold were used to gamble at a casino.
However, in court the suspect denied stealing the phones so his employers have been asked to appear in court for the full adjudication of the case.
