The father of the 14-year-old girl who was detained by the Sunyani Regional Police command for inserting her fingers into the genitals of some young girls has said he will pursue the matter until his daughter receives justice.
Mr Sampson Dankwa said he will go to court over the matter if the Commission on Human Rights and Administrative Justice to which he first reported the matter does not resolve the matter.
According to Mr. Dankwa, his daughter was detained by the Sunyani police for four days last week at the instance of the Regional Commander DCOP Kwaku Opare Addo.
He said the girl's mother reported the matter to the police in a bid to reform the young girl. But the police took the matter out of context and detained the minor unjustifiably.
“The ordeal that she went through was too much… The regional commander called me on phone and started insulting me. He said he is trying to reform my child and I have taken him to CHRAJ,” he said.
Meanwhile, the Sunyani Regional Police Commander DCOP Opare Addo declined to comment on the matter when Joy News reached him.
