Communications director of the Ghana FA, Ibrahim Sannie Darra has debunked assertions made by the Sports Minister Nii Lantey Vanderpuye that the Ministry had no idea of friendly match between Local Black Stars and Japan.
The Minister who appears to have a bone to pick with the federation sensationally claimed that his outfit was unaware of the international friendly exercise used to raise funds for the victims of the Kumamoto earthquakes.
However, his claims has been labeled as 'lies' by the spokesperson of the Ghana FA, revealing the Minister was well aware and even requested that Black Stars coach Avram Grant travel with the team.
"It’s unfortunate it has gotten to this level. But absolute falsehood being circulated everywhere. In the said match...the Ghana FA boss Kwesi Nyantakyi, the minister and officials of the ministry, discussed thoroughly the friendly.
"He [Vanderpuye] was the one who even requested Avram Grant travel to Japan to monitor the boys. So if he didn't know, how come he asked that Avram travel with the team to Japan? I am telling you, it's all lies, lies, that's what it is, lies. You can quote me on that," He added.
The Local Black Stars were mauled 3-0 by the Sumurai Blue in the exhibition game.
