Mr Owusu Baffoe, Nkoranza South constituency chairman of the NDC has stressed that the NPP government would work hard to retain power and that the NDC as the main opposition party would need to work extra hard to achieve victory in the 2008 election.
Speaking to the Ghana News Agency in an interview, the Mr Baffoe urged the national leadership of the party to draw up comprehensive strategies for the 2008 electioneering campaign.
"Such strategies would enable members of the party to reach the people in the hinterlands to canvass for more votes for the success of the party", Mr. Baffoe added.
He appealed to party members to eschew negative practices like petty squabbles, backbiting and gossiping and forge ahead in unity towards victory in 2008 and advised against being influenced with money to join other parties.
Mr Baffoe urged the party's zonal executives to commence the registration of new members and to update their membership.
The NDC Chairman called on the youth to steer away from negative practices that could create problems for them and to avoid unnecessary confrontation with members of other parties.
Mr Baffoe urged the well to do in the party to offer financial support for the party's activities during its campaign to win back power.
