A Kumasi Circuit Court on Friday remanded a taxi driver for biting off part of a colleague's nose for cautioning him against reckless driving.
Isaac Obinim, the accused person pleaded not guilty to the charge of causing harm and will re-appear before the court on June 15.
Meanwhile the victim and complainant, Kwaku Yeboah has been referred to the Surgical Department of the Agogo Hospital for a nose surgery.
Narrating the incident, Police Chief Inspector Appiah Kubi told the court presided over by Mr. Ernest Yao Obimpeh that both complainant and accused are drivers residing at Nkoransah near Kumasi.
He said on May 23 this year at about 1900 hours, the victim who was watching a football match in front of a shop with some neighbours saw the accused driving carelessly and he cautioned him but the accused got infuriated.
A quarrel then ensued between the two, but the neighbours separated them, the prosecutor said.
Chief Inspector Appiah Kubi said Obinim who was not satisfied went back to where Yeboah was and pushed him to the ground and started punching him.
He said Obinim also bit the nose of Yeboah who started shouting for help and was rescued.
The prosecution said the victim later went to the police and reported the incident, and was given a police medical form to attend hospital (Atonsu Agogo Hospital) for treatment.
On the same day at about 2100 hours the accused person also reported the matter to the police and he was also issued with a police medical form to attend hospital.
After investigations the accused was charged for causing harm and put before the court.
