Chairman of the strategic committee of Hearts of Oak, Vincent Odotei Sowah , believes the President’s Cup clash against rivals Asante Kotoko presents the perfect opportunity for his side to redeem their image after their May 2 league defeat.
Hearts were stunned by a Soulama Abdoulaye own goal in the matchday 10 fixture of the Ghana Premier League and Odotei Sowah is itching to set the records straight.
“We are motivated by two reasons, one that they never catch up with us and two, to ensure that the goal they scored against us on May 2 will be redeemed, “he said during the launch of the Presidents Cup
“We are going to redeem that.”
“I have told Kotoko officials (Lord Zico and Edmund Ackah) that we know where that goal came from and we are going to block that.”
“So we are looking forward to the opportunity to redeem ourselves before we meet them at our de facto home grounds at Baba Yara.”
Hearts are the current holders of the President’s Cup after beating Kotoko on penalties last year.
