Adjoa Bayor hopeful of Ghana’s chances

Black Queens midfielder Adjoa Bayor believes Ghana has a bright chance of winning its first Africa Women’s Championship title at this year’s tournament which kicks off in South Africa this Sunday. Ghana has come close to wining the continental title on three occasions in 1998, 2002 and 2006, losing to seven-time champions Nigeria. After winning all two friendly matches played during the one-week training tour of Germany, the Queens are expected to leave for South Africa on Friday for the competition. Ghana is placed in Group B with reigning champions Equitorial Guinea, Algeria and Cameroon. Adjoa Bayor who won the Africa Women’s Player of the Year in 2003 told Joy Sports the Queens are battle ready for the herculean task ahead. Source: Joy News/Ghana
